Pero no solo la felicidad te hace sentir vivo, sino también saber que dejás un testimonio de tu vida, saber que cuando ya no seas, algo de vos seguirá vivo en lo que vendrá. ¿Pero si sabés que no hay futuro? ¿Que nada de lo que hagas, ningún legado que dejes, ninguna contribución que hagas te va a sobrevivir? ¿Si sabés que todo se termina es posible sentirse vivo? ¿Cómo se puede ser feliz sabiendo que la vida se va a convertir en invierno? En un invierno eterno. Las cosas que nos hacen sentir realmente vivos son las cosas que vencen a la muerte, las que perduran en el tiempo. Porque el éxtasis, la felicidad, es trascender. Es el momento en que todos somos eternos y estamos vivos de verdad. De todas las formas de egoísmo la peor es no pensar en los que vendrán. Sin ellos, sin la noción de que la vida es un ciclo sin fin nada tiene sentido. Te sentís vivo no cuando la vida pasa, sino cuando vos pasás por la vida, cuando perdés el miedo a morir y a vivir. Te sentís vivo cuando sabés que cada momento es único, irrepetible, cuando sabés que nada empezó con vos y nada terminará con vos. Solo sabiendo que habrá un mañana es que podremos vencer a la muerte, y sentirnos vivos."
